Turning!

Maja is now turning from her back to her tummy and from her tummy to her back. She is on the floor in the sewing room with me and keeps on doing it over and over again, She is AMAZING!

Sunny morning!

Its a beautiful sunny morning here, very cold but beautiful. Arron came home late last night and it is soooooo good to have him home.

Went for a 3.5 hours long walk yesterday and i am totally feeling it in my body today, very sore, but it also feels a bit good.

Jacinda and Maja on Sunday morning.

Made this dummy holder this morning, don't know how many times a day i wash her dummies but, no more!
I have noticed that i do all these small little projects instead of doing the big ones that i sort of HAVE to do and that has a time limit, so now its time for a walk and then i will commit to working on the big projects.

Booties!

Last night i couldn't sleep, which was a bit weird because i had been tired all day. I thought that instead of watching dumb TV i would do something but i was so over doing patterns and grading etc and wanted a small quick project to do so i bought a pattern from here and made these. They have fleece lining so that they will keep her little footsies warm in winter. They fit but i made the size for six months and they are just perfect for her now, she has big feet. I tried to take a photo but Maja was moving way to much.

Update; I managed to get Maja to sit still for a sec so that i could take a picture of her wearing the boots.

Patterns!

I really don't like making patterns, or tracing them or grading, not at all. I just want to sew and have the finished product in hand. So instead of working on my patterns i sit here and look at all these amazing and inspiring blogs that are out there and nothing gets done, dumb.

Movies!

Is it just me or do all new mums watch a lot of movies? Just finished Easy A, ok movie i suppose.

Almost finished with the pattern for the pram sleeping bag but sort of realized that i need to work on the pattern for the presents instead so that's what i will do now.

Funny face.

View of Melbourne CBD
Went for a big and very nice walk today except that a bird pooed on the pram and the blanket, i really don't like birds and the whole saying that its good luck if a bird poos on you is bullshit, don't like it!
Can you see the bird poo on the blanket?

Inside, still sleeping.

Problems!

There is something wrong with blogger again, so annoying, haven't been able to post.

Today have been a busy day sort of. Maja has a cold and the only way to get her to sleep is to hold her so i have spent a lot of time on the couch with her not getting all the things done that i wanted to but now when i think about it i actually managed well anyway. I cooked dinner, lentil soup. I did all the dishes, one load of washing, went for a big walk and went to the post office. I made muesli and i baked my sourdough bread. Didn't really want to do them and Maja was crying but with sourdough you sort of have to if you have started the proofing and unfortunate after a lot of work they failed. But i will try again. Haven't done any sewing, i am working on another birthday present and i have also started on a sleeping bag/liner for the pram, it is so cold here now so i need something to keep Maja warm on our walks.

Got a present from Sweden the other day from beautiful Jessica. A cute dress that her daughter wore, a really good book with helping you understand your little one and a cute toy for Maja.

I did do some sewing, this little bag to have on the pram where
i can keep my phone and keys. The bassinet had one and when
we changed I really missed it so i made one. Its in the same
IKEA fabric as the sleeping bag will be in.

Arron is away this weekend, he is playing at a festival and he also have a gig tonight and one tomorrow so its just me and the girls. Hopefully Maja gets better so that i can hang out with some friends and their kids.

This weekend!

Had a really good weekend. Arron was off friday to sunday except a gig on saturday nigh, so we spent the whole weekend as a family and did family things. This week he is very busy again and then he is going to play at a festival weekend coming so it was great to spend some time together when he had time off.

This week i will try to do some more sewing, I have got my list ready. I have also decided not to do the knitting project. I have so many other things that i would like to do so i will concentrate on them instead.

The best thing right now is having my home made muesli with my homemade Rhubarb jam for breakfast, sooooo god.

Trying out the new 'grown up' seat!

New toys!

Here comes some photos of Maja from the last couple of days. She has been getting some new toys and is liking it.

Playing with Lena is always fun.

Morning session on the baby gym.

Very happy in her new Bumbo chair

Helping dad to cook dinner.

Last day in the cot on the pram,
now the grown up seat is on.

Present from Mormor, not to sure if she likes it yet.

So far!

So far my weekend is going great. My plan was to put up all these cute new photos of Maja but i cant get the camera and computer to be friends so it will have to wait to tomorrow.

I found out today that the dress i made for my niece Agnes's birthday made its way to Sweden and luckily it fits her, maybe a bit big or long at least. She is the cutest 4 year old ever, so beautiful!
I still have some fabric left and my plan is to make the same dress for Maja, a smaller version tho.

Hope you all get a great weekend.

Last year!

Last year i made a lot of these felted bottles and i filled them with home made bath salt and gave away as presents. I also made soap covered in felt, so when you used them it was sort of like a sponge/peeling soap. I still have wool left and i just found some more bottles so i might get started and do some more. The only thing is tho that most of my friends and family already have one so i need to find some new people to give them to. Jacinda said that i could try to sell them at a market, maybe i should get heaps of small things together and try to sell at the same time, maybe some baby clothes?

To the left you can see the felt soaps, they look like rocks.

Våga lyckas!

A while ago i started thinking about a project that i wanted to do. I was very excited about it and couldn't wait to get it started. I told people about it and mostly i got positive feedback and encouragement but from some i got a bit of a negative feedback. Mostly i think it was because they didn't want me to fail and to be disappointed. I really dislike that mentality, i have always thought that if you want something and if you go for it to 100% you will succeed one way or another. Even if the end result might not be what you were hoping for you did at least learn something along the way and that is the best thing. There is also this thing about being scared of succeeding, scared of making it.
I think i got a bit affected by the comments that i got and it annoys me that i did let that get to me, now i have doubts in my mind and i haven't worked on my project at all for a long time.
I will try now tho, to start it again and give it my all, and i will try to not be afraid of success, but even now as i am writing this i am feeling doubts about it. So i will try not to think to much about it and just go for it.

Also, if i write about my project here so that you all know what it is it might make it harder for me to come up with excuses for not going ahead with it. So here we go.

I want to design a range of kids clothes, or i have already designed most of them. Then i want to contact a group of ladies who have a knitting club and i would like to get them to knit one garment each. Then i would like us to have an exhibition together and auction off the garments and for all proceeds to go to charity. I would like for this to become a recurring event and i would love to pair up the ladies with young kids so that they can teach them to knit and knit the garments together and i would love for the exhibition and auctions to become a community event where the old and the young are in the spotlight. I would love to find a sponsor or a scholarship to pay for the wool, because i want to use nice wool which is expensive.

I already have the number to the lady who coordinates these knitting groups so i just need to pick up the phone and call her, maybe the ladies don't even want to do this, and i also need to start to contact companies who could sponsor with wool or to apply for scholarships.  But do i really want to do this? Is it to much work? I don't know. Do i have doubts because of some of the reactions i got or do i have doubts because i rather do other things?

I will have a good think about this today and tomorrow i will make a decision. Either i do it and then i will do it to 110% or i don't and i will be happy with that and concentrate on something else to do and not think about it again.

Luckily this little one will be happy whatever i choose to do.

I forgot!

I had just fed Maja and was wiping up some throw up when the phone rang and it was my friend Ben asking me where i was and that they were waiting, oops, i forgot. I was having dinner with some friends tonight and i TOTALLY forgot about it. Luckily it was at Jacinda's and she lives just around the corner from us so i was there in a tick. Unfortunately i had already eaten so i only had some of Jacinda's salad, she always does great salads. But it was really great to See Ben and his girlfriend, haven't seen him in ages.

Now Maja is a sleep and i think i will go to be too, Arron is away on rehearsal and will be home late.
Tomorrow I'm going into my old job to say hello, i really miss Gustav and Sigourney so it will be great to say hello to them, and i will love to try on all of their awesome clothes.

I recon this Goal board is pretty cool. Would be good to have and write down your goals for the day, even if it was small ones like smile to a stranger or clean the toilet.

Crochet!

I wish i could crochet so that i could do a bedspread like this...

...actually, i probably wouldn't have the patient to do it even if i knew how to.

Day off!

Today i will try to take a day off sewing, i might do some planning of what to sew next instead. Arron really wants a hood in his fabric and i will do it, its only that small fun Maja projects get in before his big hood project all the time. I will make a list and try to stick to it.
How cute aren't they together?

Woke up with a really bad head ace and it still hasn't gone away so i think its time to go to the couch and watch a movie.
Went for a big walk, thought that would help but no. The weather was amazing tho, really cold and crisp and the sun was out. Got some cute photos of Maja. She really loves Sally, the little stuffed toy i made for her.

Ok, time for me to go and make some scones and watch a movie.

Outfit!

So i did these pants this morning. My first whole outfit is now done and I'm super happy about it.

And so is Maja.

Now its time for a walk and food shopping. Last night i made Vietnamese noodle soup and tonight I'm making Laksa with coriander crusted chicken, asian inspired dishes.
Mothers group is on again today, today we are going to a library where they have a story time session.

KCWC!

KCWC is over for this time and i am so happy with the things that i got done. The thing is tho, i will keep on sewing like crazy now too. I really, really enjoy it. Like the other day when i made the pattern and top for Maja and it turned out to small. Arron wanted to make sure i wasn't upset that i put all that time into it and it didn't work and the thing was i wasn't upset at all because i really enjoyed the process of making it. Now i have changed the pattern and it fits perfect, a bit big but she is growing so fast. This top is the easiest thing ever to make. I found this tutorial to make the pattern and how so sew it. She is making it a bit different than how i made mine but the end result is the same. I think it is amazing when people put their time and effort into making tutorials to put up for others to enjoy and this is a good one.

Here are some of my favourites from the KCWC week!

Ice cream dress
Party perfect

Twin hats

Elephant outfit

'Day at the zoo' soft baby boots

Top!

I made a new and bigger pattern for Maja's top and this is the finished result, or almost finished. I cant decide if i should just hem it or put on a hem in the same fabric as the sleeves. I will think about it while i feed the little one.

Update: feed done and i have decided to just hem it.

Rhubarb jam!

Once again the rhubarb in the garden is going crazy so this time i decided to make Rhubarb and vanilla jam. Looking up the recipe you realize how much sugar there is in jams. I decided to half the sugar amount, i hope this doesn't affect the was the jam keeps. This business with the bubbles on the top that you are suppose to scoop out, does anyone know why?

I was standing chopping up all the rhubarbs for the jam, Maja was in the bouncer behind me making all these little cute noises, i turn around and this is what i see!
And yes, i went for the camera before rescuing my daughter, it was so funny and had to be captured.

Still happy!

This morning we went for a long walk. Its really autumn outside now and the colours on the leaves etc. are great.

Beautiful leaves, unfortunate my camera
doesn't capture the colour that well.

Super cute in the pram.

Mustard coloured autumn socks.
